Sue Ann Swift

Sue Ann is the Vice President of Government Affairs at The Raleigh Group. With over a decade of experience in government relations, Sue Ann is widely regarded as a leading expert in healthcare policy, known for her ability to forge strong, results-driven relationships with lawmakers and key stakeholders. She represents a diverse portfolio of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, national trade associations, and non-profits, guiding them through the complexities of North Carolina’s legislative process.

She has held senior leadership roles, including Vice President of Strategy and Government Relations at Trillium Health Resources, where she focused on critical issues related to Medicaid, behavioral health, substance use, foster care, and developmental disabilities. Earlier in her career, Sue Ann served as the lead lobbyist for the North Carolina Medical Society, advocating on behalf of over 12,000 physicians and physician assistants. In 2018, she completed the prestigious American Medical Association Campaign School and was invited to return as a guest lecturer.

Sue Ann holds a Doctor of Health Sciences degree with a concentration in Health Administration from Campbell University, where her research focused on mental health policy. She also earned a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy from East Carolina University and a B.A. in English and Communication Studies from Campbell where she served as Student Government Association President.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sue Ann is an engaged community leader. She has served on the Alumni Boards of both East Carolina University and Campbell University, as well as the Board of Trustees for The Oakwood School in Greenville, N.C. Currently, she serves on the Board of the North Carolina Professional Lobbyists Association. A lifelong North Carolinian, Sue Ann resides in Raleigh with her husband, Brian.
